Time to Rebalance your Portfolio - 2018 Release

We continue to be excited about the process and the culmination of all of the decisions that go into producing our flagship Portfolio wine.  Each vintage presents itself differently and allows us to display vintage nuance, while staying true our vision.

The 2018 vintage combines the five classic varietals of a traditional Bordeaux style blend: 45% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot. Each varietal combines to create a multilayered, complex wine.

Using double sorting tables to sort grapes first by cluster and then by berry allows us to put meticulous attention on using only the best grapes in our wines. The whole berry fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks as well as in oak. Portfolio 2018 saw 21 months in French oak barrels with 42% new French oak and 58% second fill French oak.

$49.99/bottle plus tax.  Also available in impressive Magnums and Double Magnums.

Canadian Direct Delivery Petition Closes
February 14, 2021

We are often asked about why we don't deliver to certain provinces and how you the valued customer can help, here is your chance.

Member of Parliament, Dan Albas, has introduced a private member's bill to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act so that Canadians can order wine, craft beer and spirits from Canadian producers, and be able to have those products shipped directly to them by Canada Post and support this important industry at a time when they need us the most.

Industry and consumer support is critical via signing the online petition here .

Notes from the Cellar

2020 Vintage Highlights

Overall great wines with the whites showing excellent promise and the reds looking very solid.

The whites have very balanced acidity with great fruit flavours and lush rich palates. Wines are showing excellent fruit intensity.

Had a slow start to the 2020 growing season but by mid summer the vines were progressing well. The crop was light in general which allowed the quality to really shine. Loosely formed  bunches with smaller than average berry size, allowed for full sunlight penetration with resultant development of intense fruit flavours.

Cold weather and snow starting on Oct 22, which put an dramatic end to the growing season, but again due to the light crop the grapes reached full flavor maturity and the resulting wines are fully bodied, with excellent flavors and harmonious balance.

We haven’t started the official blending of the 2019 reds yet but we have some real jewels that are aging beautifully in barrel.
