Laughing Stock Vineyards Laughing Stock Vineyards News 13.04.16

Is this Global Warming?

An early budbreak in our Perfect Hedge Vineyard in Osoyoos, has this Syrah bud appearing about 3 weeks early..... again.  And vines are 'weeping' with sap running earlier than we've ever seen on the Naramata Bench (see Video link).

Since 2012, we have seen earlier and earlier warm spring weather which has resulted in some fantastic recent vintages in BC wine country.  This warming trend is catching the eye of the global wine world as some regions within California are now getting 'too' warm.

Canada, particularly British Columbia, is well positioned to take advantage of climate shift. And as per the last line in this recent article from the Somm Journal, YES you will see fine wines emerging from places like BC.  They already are!

Joy Road Winemaker's Culinary Dinners

Insider Tip:  Some of these LFNG events are just offered to our Preferred Shareholders.  Join our wine club today to get shareholder benefits like these special event invites.

Meet Holly:Investor Relations

Holly is in charge of our 'investors", a.k.a. managing the ever-growing Preferred Share Wine Club and busy appointment-only Tasting Room.

Holly has developed her wine knowledge with a “hands on” approach touring the wine regions of the world including cycling the Barossa Valley and tasting Penfold’s Grange Hermitage. Now biking and drinking ... there’s an idea. Then bringing home wine from St. Emilion and having the Chateau fudge the receipt lower, 'C’est Normal', and hoping Customs doesn't drink Grand Cru Classe.

Holly’s background is as diverse as the varietals found in the Okanagan: transportation, recycling, spa, and most recently successful restauranteur. Throughout it all wine has been a passion of hers, although her dog’s name is Guinness, go figure!

Email Holly at for questions about Preferred Share Wine Club or to set up a tasting.
